Pinnacle Hosts 9th Annual Pinnacle University
Unique professional development program will explore emerging topics in the insurance industry and actuarial profession.
Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Inc. (Pinnacle) today announced that Pinnacle University, a continuing education partnership of Pinnacle and several national universities, will be held virtually Monday, March 28 and Wednesday, March 30.
Pinnacle University was created to give actuarial students at universities exposure to existing and emerging issues facing the insurance industry. The program provides real-world experience in managing a project, collaborating with a team and delivering a professional presentation.
“Pinnacle is proud of the Pinnacle University program,” Pinnacle Managing Principal Joe Herbers said. “It represents our fundamental and absolute commitment to the future of our great profession and to the next generation of actuaries. Pinnacle University exposes students to critical issues while allowing them to experience true professional collaboration and cooperation.”
To prepare for Pinnacle University, actuarial students from various universities work with Pinnacle’s actuarial professionals to research topics of actuarial- and insurance-related significance and interest.
At the invite-only Pinnacle University, teams present their findings, and a panel of credentialed actuaries from Pinnacle, insurance companies, universities and other actuarial organizations critiques and discusses the conclusions, content and execution of the presentation. The event, normally held at Pinnacle’s home office in Bloomington, will be conducted virtually for invited attendees.
Topics at this year’s Pinnacle University will include business interruption, inflation's impact on the property/casualty industry, and autonomous vehicles, among others.
“Scores of actuarial professionals have participated in Pinnacle University,” Pinnacle Senior Consulting Actuary Erich Brandt said. “Many of those participants have developed rewarding careers as actuaries. We’re proud of their contributions to Pinnacle University and congratulate them on their contributions to the actuarial industry.”
